Rob Daumler, CFP®, B.Econ, is the Principal of Daumler, Mertz & Associates at IG Wealth Management, bringing over three decades of knowledge and experience to the families and professionals he serves. Since earning his BA in Economics from the University of Calgary in 1992 and joining the financial services industry shortly after, Rob has been committed to helping clients gain clarity, reduce financial stress, and build lasting confidence in their financial future. Holding the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation since 1998, Rob is known for his steady leadership and thoughtful, relationship-driven planning approach. Over the years, he has built a reputation for delivering sophisticated, tax-efficient strategies that support retirement, business succession, estate planning, and intergenerational wealth transfer. Rob focuses on creating tailored solutions that align with each client’s goals and values.
Rob is widely respected not only for his technical expertise but also for his leadership, serving as a Division Director with IG Wealth Management, where he mentors emerging advisors and champions professional development within the firm, drawing from his broad scope of experience with strategic planning for affluent families and business owners.
Outside the office, Rob enjoys golf, fishing, and spending time at the lake with his wife Marie and their three children Ben, Billie, and Eve. He is a dedicated member of The Goodbuggers hockey team, with nearly $300,000 raised since 2021 for the Gordie Howe CARES Centre for Alzheimer’s Research and Education Society. And while most people know him for his financial expertise, few suspect Rob once travelled the world wielding a badminton racket, representing Alberta and Canada as a nationally-ranked player, a testament to the focus and discipline he brings to everything he does.

Lucas Mertz CFP®, CIM, BBA
Senior Financial Consultant
Lucas Mertz, CFP®, CIM®, BBA, is a Senior Financial Consultant at Daumler, Mertz & Associates with IG Wealth Management, where he helps clients make confident, informed decisions about their financial futures. With a dual background in Finance and Economics earned while attending university in the United States on a hockey scholarship, Lucas brings a rare combination of analytical insight and disciplined focus to his work. He began his career at ATB Financial before joining IG Wealth Management in 2015, and has since earned both the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designations.
Lucas specializes in building integrated wealth plans that reflect each client’s unique goals, whether that means preparing for retirement, optimizing investments, or creating tax-efficient strategies for long-term success. Born and raised in the Calgary area, he understands the values and priorities that matter to Alberta families and business owners. Known for his calm, clear guidance and thoughtful approach, Lucas is deeply committed to helping clients feel confident at every stage of their financial journey. Away from the office, he still enjoys time at the rink, but now it's more about community and connection than competition.
